I love it when a song attaches to a character in my mind. I've only ever made one fanmix -- Blurring The Edges, which was a Seifer/Squall one. My music taste has changed vastly since then, which is why you probably wouldn't see such an abundance of Seether and Epica on it, if I made it now.
Anyway, I'm thinking of doing one for Will and Bran (as in, mostly Will/Bran, but with some plain Will and some plain Bran and some that's more like friendship). I've got four or five songs strongly in mind at the moment -- there are a few others that'll probably jump up and bite me again in future, but for now...
Note: It's more... several different views of them, rather than a series of moments in their lives.
1. Loreena McKennitt,
The Old Ways.
Suddenly I knew that you'd have to go/Your world was not mine, your eyes told me so/Yet it was there I felt the crossroads of time/And I wondered why
2. Vienna Teng,
The Atheist Christmas Carol.
It's the season of eyes meeting over the noise/And holding fast with sharp realization/It's the season of cold making warmth a divine intervention/You are safe here you know now
3. Vienna Teng,
Enough To Go By.
Would it be enough to go by/If we could sail on the wind and the dark/Cut those chains in the middle of the night/That had you pulled apart
4. Karine Polwart,
Terminal Star.
You're a beautiful trace/Of time and space/You're a thing that once shone/And you still shine bright/In the darkest night/Though you're already gone
5. Vertical Horizon,
Goodbye Again.
I'll wait around/Maybe you'll forget you were ever here/Maybe forget you were ever, never here
6. Vashti Bunyan,
Love Song.
I love you now as you don't love me/I can't let you know you're too far away/But I wonder now just what did you see/When you looked at me in that loveless way
7. Loreena McKennitt,
Dante's Prayer.
Cast your eyes on the ocean/Cast your soul to the sea/When the dark night seems endless/Please remember me
8. Sarah McLachlan,
Do What You Have To Do.
I'm ever swiftly moving/Trying to escape this desire/The yearning to be near you/I do what I have to do
Thoughts? Suggestions? I suspect some Sarah McLachlan would make its way into the final cut.
Edit: Added a sixth.
Edit#2: Added a seventh and eighth.
