Musing: tv - Merlin: order and disorder

I've been pondering this since I did my Robin Hood module, last semester. My lecturer talked about Robin Hood stories and King Arthur stories as opposed -- never popular at the same time, rarely appearing in the same text. I'm not sure how that relates to the topic of Merlin...? Or doesn't it?

Ah, I see. Yes, I agree: I think the fact that the choice of Merlin rather than pushing the Robin Hood stories is probably somewhat a reflection of this (although mustn't underestimate the fact that the Robin Hood series was a relative flop, for motivation *snork*).
