Pairings: potential Flareup/Bluestreak?
Summary: Inferno really should learn to let Flareup live her own life…
Warnings: None
Disclaimer: As per usual, the good things in life are not mine to have, but belong to someone else... in this case Hasbro, Takara and IDW and anyone else I’ve forgotten…
Authors Notes: For the tf_rare_pairing prompt - Flareup/Bluestreak - one for the road.  I think perhaps my Flareup may be nothing like the canon Flareup.  This is set in the same ‘verse as Bright Lights, Big City, where Flareup is Inferno’s sparkling.
Feedback makes friends.  Flames dealt with by the masters of paranoia and fire, Red Alert and Inferno.

Inferno actually growled as he watched the footage.  If Red Alert hadn’t been fighting his own urge to growl, he would have laughed.
“Inferno… it’s only Bluestreak.” He rested a hand on his friend’s arm.
“Only Bluestreak.  Who happens ta be flirtin’ with mah sparkling.”
“Flareup is hardly a sparkling anymore.” Red Alert reminded him.
“She’ll always be a sparklin’ ta me.” Inferno grumbled, glaring at the camera viewing the rec room.  Red Alert patted his arm consolingly.
“She’s gotta be heading out soon anyways, she’s on the early patrol.” Inferno pointed out (a little smugly in Red Alert’s opinion).
“You know her schedule?” Red Alert didn’t sound as surprised as he perhaps thought he should be.  But then, he’d seen the way Inferno had been with Flareup while she was growing up.  He’d been the textbook protective creator, indeed, one could say overprotective creator.  Inferno bristled a little at Red Alert’s observation.
“I still like ta keep an optic on her when I can.” He answered defensively.  Red Alert just nodded and patted his arm again.

Flareup favored Bluestreak with a smile.  “I’ve gotta head out here Blue… got the early patrol.”
“Awww…” Bluestreak pouted, doorwings flaring.  Flareup laughed, reaching across to run a finger across the nearest one teasingly.
“One more for the road?” He asked, raising his energon cube in invitation.
“All right.” Flareup nodded, settling herself more comfortably in her chair.  She didn’t want to leave just yet.  She still had more than enough time to recharge before her patrol started.  She watched as Bluestreak got up to get them both another cube, optics lingering appreciatively on his frame.
“Here you go.” Bluestreak returned, sliding her cube across to her before sitting down.  If he’d noticed that her optics had followed him all the way to the dispenser, he didn’t say anything.  Though judging by the look on Sideswipe’s faceplates, he’d noticed.  And was sure to let Bluestreak know if he hadn’t realised.  She shot him a grin and focussed her attention back on Bluestreak.  The gunner was adorable, and she wasn’t shy in telling him - it made his doorwings move in the most fascinating ways.  One particular twitch caught her attention and she asked him what that movement meant.
“Doesn’t mean anything.” He shrugged, glancing over his shoulder.  “I just feel like I’m being watched…” Flareup narrowed her optics and gazed at the camera in the corner of the rec room.
“Yeah… actually, I know what you mean.”

“Father, if you’re watching us, stop before you give yourself a spark attack.” Flareup deliberately used the human word for Inferno.
“I am well past my majority, and if you don’t like the idea of me flirting, then stop watching me!” That said, she closed the commline, without waiting to hear Inferno’s response.

Red Alert, unfortunately, was treated to the rant that was his response.
