TF: Soundwave’s Cat 3: Ungrateful Glitchmice

Apr 17, 2015 14:46

Rating: PG
Series: G1
Summary: Life with Ravage isn’t always easy, despite what the other Decepticons may think.  This is a sample of Soundwave’s struggles being owned by a cat, regardless of its robotic form.
Warnings: Cats being cats.  That might be warning in itself.
Disclaimer: As per usual, the good things in life are not mine to have, but belong to someone else... in this case Hasbro, Takara and IDW and anyone else I’ve forgotten…
Authors Notes: From the tf_bunny_farm here.  May have some similarities to femme4jack’s fic, but I think this is more due to cat behavior than anything else.  Despite not having posted in this series for nearly 4 years (!), I still have pieces written (and am writing more).  Because cats.
Feedback makes friends.  Flames dealt with by the masters of paranoia and fire, Red Alert and Inferno.

The scurrying sound had Soundwave tilting his head and twisting away from his workstation to find the source of the noise.  He didn’t expect to see Ravage chasing a glitch mouse across the room.  Where had he found a glitch mouse?  Soundwave had actually been grateful when they were marooned on Earth, because it seemed that the indigenous rodent population didn’t interest Ravage.  Of course, there was the added advantage of being underwater, where few rodents found themselves.  He’d gone for a large rodent the first time he’d seen one.  The results had been something he hadn’t cared to repeat, and Soundwave was thankful.  It was difficult enough to get Ravage near water at the best of times.  And perversely, it was worse when he was covered in stinking organic mush.

“Ravage!” The feline ignored Soundwave, concentrating on his prey, which was currently hiding under the berth.  He couldn't leave a glitch mouse running around his quarters.  And despite everything, especially knowing the glitch mouse was still functioning, he couldn't leave it for Ravage to deal with.  Especially considering that he would be the one to clean up the parts Ravage hadn't bothered to consume.

Crouching down in front of the berth, Soundwave pushed Ravage out of the way and bent down to see if he could see the glitch mouse.  Only to see it disappear out the other side of the berth.  The scampering told him that Ravage was also aware of the glitch mouse moving.  Hurrying after Ravage on his hands and knees, Soundwave managed to extricate the glitch mouse from Ravage's clutches.
At which point the glitch mouse bit him on the finger, teeth crumpling and breaking the delicate plating.  Shocked, Soundwave dropped the glitch mouse and Ravage pounced.  Nursing his injured finger, Soundwave decided the ungrateful glitch mouse could fend for itself.
