Authors Notes: For the prompt - Sideswipe/Ironhide - I know that's what you saw, but it wasn't what happened! Continued because
mmouse15 demanded I fix what I did in the last part!
Continues in the same series as
War Is Over ,
Not Playing Around,
Accidents Happen,
Awkward and
Hesitation. I'm going to need a series name for this little lot (and the other parts that are sure to follow). If anyone has any suggestions, please give them to me. Promise to write the 'winner' a ficlet of their choice (within reasons).

Jolt came away from Sideswipe’s ‘lesson’ feeling more confident about what would happen next. The knowledge that Ironhide wouldn’t look down on him for never having done anything of the sort before buoyed him, and his spark fluttered whenever he thought about kissing, or even doing anything, with Ironhide.
But the weapons specialist was nowhere to be found. Jolt looked all over the base before catching sight of Ratchet, who was coming out of Optimus’ office.
“Ratchet… have you seen Ironhide?” He knew the two were old friends, so he was hoping that the medic would be able to shed some light on Ironhide’s whereabouts.
“He’s off base.” Ratchet’s answer was curt. “He’ll be back sometime tomorrow. Use the time to work out how to explain things to him.”
“Explain things?” Now Jolt was confused. So Jolt went to the only mech who might be able to help him. Sideswipe had proven helpful in the past, so maybe, he would prove helpful once more?

“He’s what?”
“Left the base.”
“So what do you want me to do?”
“Nothing, I… Ratchet said that I’d need to explain things to him.”
“Explain things?” Now Sideswipe was confused.
“I don’t know!” Jolt shrugged, electricity crackling across his frame. “He’s due back tomorrow. And I don’t know what to say to him.”
“So you want me to speak to him?”
“Please?” Sideswipe just knew he’d end up regretting this too.
“All right, when he gets back on base, I’ll see if I can find out what this is all about.”

The next day found Sideswipe lingering by the main gate to the compound. It was the only entrance in from the road, so Ironhide had to come this way.
“What are you doing here?” Were the first words Ironhide spoke as he rolled through the gate and transformed. Sideswipe had positioned himself so he couldn't actually get past the silver mech without acknowledging him - something he really didn’t want to be doing.
“Waiting for you.” Sideswipe could feel the irritation rolling off Ironhide like a wave.
“Well, now you’ve seen me, so you can get lost.”
“No can do.”
“Frag off, Sideswipe. I don’t want to speak to you.”
“You don’t want to speak to Jolt either, why is that?”
“As if you don’t know!” Ironhide folded his arms over his chest, fingers itching to grab hold of Sideswipe.
“Do you think if I did I would be standing here asking you when you’re obviously in such a bad mood?” Sideswipe snapped back. That was it; Ironhide charged him, slamming him against the nearest wall and pinning him there.
“What the frag has crawled up your tailpipe?” Sideswipe managed before Ironhide’s cannons whirled to life and he clamped down on his vocaliser.
“Nothing. I just don’t like being fragged around by younglings.” Ironhide growled back, resisting the urge to actually bring his cannons to bear on Sideswipe.
“What are you talking about?”
“I saw you.”
“Saw me what? Oh…” Realisation dawned on Sideswipe. “I don’t know what you think you saw, but that wasn’t what it looked like!”
“Oh no? Enlighten me then. Because from where I was standing, it looked an awful lot like you and Jolt kissing.”
“Well, technically, that’s correct…” Sideswipe broke off as Ironhide slammed him against the wall again. “Ow, Ironhide! Hear me out.”
“Start talkin’ then. And quickly.”
“He didn’t know what to do. Was scared you would find out and pity him for it.”
“He didn’t know what to do?” Sideswipe nodded as best he could. “Frag…” Ironhide loosened his grip and Sideswipe sagged against the wall.
“I wouldn’t do anything to stop the two of you getting together, believe me.”
“I thought the pair of you were fooling me.”
“Jolt likes you.” Sideswipe shrugged. “I’m not entirely sure why, but he does. And he didn’t want to let you down. So he asked for my help.”
“And you helped him by kissing him.”
“It wasn’t like that! He asked. And I can’t refuse him.”
“You can’t refuse him?”
“Ironhide, you look him in the optics and try to refuse him.”
“Hmmpf.”
“Believe me, it was harder for me than you realise.” Sideswipe retorted, pushing away from the wall. Ironhide stepped back to let him move.
“Oh?”
“I like him Ironhide, really like him.” Sideswipe seemed to sink on his wheels. “But as I already told you, he doesn’t want me, he wants you. And can you imagine how hard it is to kiss someone you love only to know that they’re thinking of someone else?”
“I…”
“Don’t say anything. Just go find Jolt and sort things out, please.” With that, Sideswipe skated off, rolling one shoulder to try and dislodge the slightly dented plating his impact with the wall had created. He deliberately didn’t look back at Ironhide.
Ironhide stood and stared after Sideswipe before turning and making his way to the main hanger where they all slept. Sideswipe was right, he and Jolt needed to sort things out. It didn’t matter to him if Jolt didn’t know anything. War meant that a lot of the younger ‘bots didn’t know all the pleasures they could get.
Jolt stayed where he was. He’d followed Sideswipe and hidden as soon as Ironhide had come in. He’d watched as the warrior pinned Sideswipe. He’d heard Sideswipe admit his feelings. Both of them were so caught up in their emotions that neither of them had seen him. And he was grateful for that. It gave him a little more time to think about things.
Authors Notes: Dammit brain, you are not meant to be thinking of potential threesomes.
