 Of course, about two minutes after asking Renay to send me her illegal download of Breaking Dawn,  I find one of my own.

THESE BOOKS SUCK.

It's to be expected. Don't go into the Twilight and Eragon series expecting non-suck.

(I'll concede, passable writing, but I have a bit of an issue with the story.)

Actually... The writing is total crap, in my opinion. Meyer herself says she's a storyteller, not a writer. I hate her style. I read them because

a) I loved Jacob until he got up to all that douchebaggery in Eclipse
b) I got hooked on the plotline
c) It is so, so much fun to mock.

I gave up on the series after the first book (I didn't hate it, but nothing I heard about the rest of the series inspired me to keep reading), but I've been following the Internet fallout with a kind of horrified glee. Meyer seems to have gone totally off the rails with this one. Did you see the recap by cleolinda? All of the joys of reading the book without the pain of actually having to read the book.

I hadn't. Thank you! Right now I'm mostly pissed because SM totally stole the baby-chewing-out-of-the-womb thing. It's been done - I don't know how many times, but I saw it done by Sara Douglass and she was far, far better. 9_9

Also, LOL at Bella being a super-special-mega-amazing vampire, just like she was a super-special-mega-amazing human. Goddamn. This girl doesn't do anything by halves.
