[It's early spring when Prussia finally finds herself willing to brave the outdoors again. Not that she's been holed up all winter mind you, but during the winter being outside is a means of getting from point A to point B; now she can finally enjoy being outside just for the sake of being outside. It's still a bit nippy, the last remaining signs

Dressed warmly enough to be unconcerned by the chill, he's cheerfully rolling in a patch of daisies. Or...lying in them and occasionally flopping over a little. He's a sleepy child. But he's also an alert child, being used to the rough and tumble of his time, and his ears prick up at the intrusion to the field. Sitting up, he watches the figure in the distance; a lady, judging by the hair, but not really the sort of lady he's used to. So he just...waits.]

[Takes you at your word because he is naive and dumb even if he's book smart. Bunny nose! He nuzzles her a bit, giggling in that excitedly nervous sort of way.]
Yes! [For dinner sometimes, too.] But the ones I play with are brown.

If you promise to be really gentle you can play with Ossi if you'd like.
[She is not for dinner though. Prussian bunnies don't taste good.]

There you are. Now be careful what you say Roddy. You couldn't tell from my name we're related.

[Takes her, cradling her in his lap and just hugging her for a little while; he really is a cautious child. And even though her language is very different to his, it's inescapably Germanic, and so is he, thus, they must be related.]

Mm. So it's not very nice to say no one in your family is careful to another family member now is it?

But they aren't! They run around getting into fights all the time! You're big like Vater so...it's different. Um, are you someone's Schwester? [Everyone has a fuckton of sisters and brothers except him, apparently, even though they all have the same dad...]

I guess I am almost as tall as Vater huh? Mm...yes I have lots of siblings.
[It's because he's the brown one.]

Mm...I don't have any and I don't see Vater anymore.
[...Do you want to make a little kid cry?]

Shhh...hey, it's okay Roddy. Vater doesn't visit me anymore either. But he still loves us okay?
[No. No she does not. If he starts to cry, she'll start to cry. And hopefully he's more trusting now because she's decided it's time for him to come up in her lap.]

Mm...I don't like him much anyway.
[This is both true and a lie, but whatever. He blinks at her curiously; he'll be pretty happy to sit in her lap, since that's basically all he ever wants to do with people at his court. Being a nation kid sucks when all you want is cuddles, but on the other hand, at least he isn't dying from plague or something.]

[Or well it was probably true for Gilbert, since Mutti Germania's hand was more likely to dole out spankings than pettings. She kind of knows that feel, but more importantly she loves hugging little kids so he can have all the cuddles he likes.]

[Which isn't really true but little kids and super sensitive little feelings don't mix well with gruff distant parenting. Anyway he doesn't want to talk about him anymore, he'll just be burrowing into her and whispering very quietly to Ossi.]
