I probably do complain too much, I think it's just having gotten to used to being elated at myself after the last couple of years of uni. I used to play not at getting As but at getting 100% on the exams, but I guess university doesn't quite work the same :o)
It doesn't really matter so much in the long-run though, the trainings scheme I'm looking at in the civil service only requires a 2.2, and I think I can even do post-grad at a stretch with a 2.2 if I wanted to. I think I just know too many smart people and feel some sort of need to distinguish myself :o/
I think if you care that much about it, you're not going to fail for the sake of a few marks. :)
I once got given an E from a vox tutor because I chose to compare the vocals on two Machine Head tracks and he just didn't like one of the songs. I still managed to get a high 2.1 so it can't have made that much of a difference.
I'd be a bit surprised to fail myself, it's just not getting top marks that bothers me :o)
My marks jump around as well. I've had a number of 1sts, but I've also been marked down on a lot of units. Guess it only makes sense that it all evens out to a 2.1 :o)

If it makes you feel better, I'm at a 2:2 level but should be able to get 2:1 according to my tutor. I know its cos I dont enjoy uni.
