February wrap-up

Feb 28, 2011 16:22

It's the last day of February and I'm taking a break from Dragon Age to make a quick post about sims.  At the beginning of the month I posted a to-do list for myself and, while not everything has been crossed off the list, it's been a pretty productive month.

I posted an update, two picspams and a meta, I've made decent progress with catching up on ( Read more... )

I have an "unused CC" folder which really helps, and I subfolder it (or at least, now I do) by what it is. It's particularly great for specialist stuff, like hot air balloon and diamond mines, or ballet things. I'm not using them--or anything, really--right now, but you never know.

*nods* That makes sense. Unfortunately it's easier said than done when your downloads folder is as disorganised as mine. What I'm thinking of doing, and might make a start with over the next few weeks, is to go round various downloads sites and create organised specialised folders of cc and then delete all that 'just-in-case' stuff I have hanging around.

Oh wow, congratulations on getting so much done! And I know what you mean about cc. It seems like even when I feel like I've really gotten rid of a lot, it's barely made a dent in the collection. *sigh*

Thanks, De :)

Yeah, the 4,000 files I've culled barely makes a dent - I still have to delete at least twice that number to reach my minimum goal XD

Yay Widget! Sounds like a very productive month. And I totally hear you on the CC. I have a folder called "opened CC" that contains the zip files of practically everything I have ever downloaded. I too have the fear that I will never find it again even if I'm not using it. This is particularly true if it came off of the exchange...

Thanks, Pen.

I don't keep my zips but I do have carefully dated backups of my downloads folder that go back years. That fear is even bigger since Sims 3 came out - I keep thinking that one day all the sites I download from will be gone.
