Oh, wow.

Helo, I love you, baby, but Lee's right.

This is awesome, Widget. Gah. Punch in the gut.

But I don't want punches in the gut! I want Lee and Helo to be BFF! I want them to spend their down time together in the gym, sparring and getting hot and sweaty then taking showers together, all naked and slick with soap and...

Where was I?

And now they're probably not friends anymore all because Helo has a rather selective memory. /is sad

Glad you liked, though.

I liked seeing them as friends. I want them to make up. I don't want us to wibble.

This is just so painful and so *real*. Everybody loses in this scenario, but Helo's feeling the sting of the whip more than anyone.

In my head, it's Lee leaving the names, btw. And nice job on that line!

Poor Helo. He really doesn't know what he's truly wrought and how much anger his actions will potentially cause ( ... )

Oh, of all the people, you know Lee would be *adamant* that Helo be unharmed. If anyone knows about living with the consequences of your actions, it's Lee Adama.

*Applauds* Oh, another lovely Widget Masterpiece of insight! And you chose Helo to explore with his "super-frakked" situation, and gave him the glorious moment of understanding with the even more "frakked-up" Lee. Um, gratuitous? Maybe. But you are causing more crazy fandom thoughts for me then your lastest episode round-up did about altering character interactions.

Thanks. I'm alsways happy to cause crazy fannish thoughts! :-D and really, who better to discuss the high price of doing the right thing with Helo than Lee.

I love my frakked up boys!

Oh, brilliant! I love, love, loooove this as a follow-up to Measures of Contrition.

“You did what you thought was right. I get that.” Lee’s expression hardens again. “But did you really think people would thank you for it? What did you think would be the outcome of all of this?”
I love Lee delivering that message, holding a mirror up for Helo to see the consequences of his actions. It's brilliant and necessary.

I think of all the characters Lee appreciates the high price one often pays for doing the right thing. I'm not sure Helo really thought through the repercussions of his actions. He's very noble but hopelessly naive and people are going to die because of it and he needs to understand that.

Thank you for commenting.

Perfectly done, hit just the right tone, especially the conversation between Lee and Helo, and Lee's momentary compassion/empathy.

It's natural that Karl'd compare the treatment with his return to Galactica with Sharon the first time, but he's only now starting to see that this time it's different. Helo is is sweet and naive, and he tries to be honorable, but in this case, he's just so wrong.

I'd love to see consequences of his act onscreen, but I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks for giving us a fic-view of it, and doing it so well.

Cheers,

Lil

Well, of all the characters, Lee would understand why Helo did it. And of all the characters he knows the high price you can pay for doing the right thing. Lee learned that lesson the hard way. I love Helo, I do, but did he really have the right to make this decision and potentially damn humanity to extinction? I don't think he really understand what was truly at stake nor how people will react. Now he's gone and confirmed all those suspicions that he's a Cylon sympathizer who puts them before his own people. He doesn't see it that way, but everyone else will.

I'd love to see consequences of his act onscreen, but I'm not holding my breath.

You and me both. Which is a pity, because the fallout of this would be pretty interesting to watch.

Thanks for comnmenting.
