Um, you want to feel like dirt?  Mention to your step-mom's best friend that you write (oh, sorry, make that past!tense: wrote) fanfiction, right before you find out she just wrote a script for House.  Uh, yeah, not good, on so many levels

Ugh, not sure how I would have handled that, besides begging for spoilers. I'm curious, though, what did she think about your writing fanfiction?

She didn't say a word about it, just gave me a look down her nose that clearly said "oh, you're one of those. Now, you gotta remember that these are Warner Bros people... I can just imagine that she thinks I wrote some horrible Harry/Draco smut type thing... Not to mention the legal ambiguity of fanfic. Would have been better if I'd kept my mouth shut, but I was talking about my friends and she asked how I met y'all.

You know, I felt the same way about fanfiction and people who wrote it until I actually read some. They can't hate us too much, we're the ones that love the different fandoms so much we're willing to spend money on them!
