Today, during the habitual "after japanese class tea time," we had an awesome conversation. It started with sesame seeds, proceded to yet another discussion of 'penisbutter' (which is apparently made by combining sesame seed paste and honey. I had my first real debate in Japanese yesterday. Most of my daily Japanese conversations have revolved around basic needs, (Where's the bathroom? What time do classes start? How do I eat this funny white slime? ) or explanations (What does this kanji mean? Why did all the teachers vanish from the staff room during third period? What on earth ( Read more... ) -

we talked about the White House in one of the examples today in class. One of the kids asked "There's only the White House?" I was kinda surprised cuz, sure, the white house is no Imperial Palace, but it's not exactly shabby either, and I don't think the President needs two houses unless he's buying at least one with his own money.
