Glee- story- The Remainder [2/7 or oneshot]

The first had left so quickly that Will and the rest of ND didn't know he was dead for a day.

They'd just gone to Nationals in New York, and were excited over their win of third place out of fifty. The top five would continue onto other countries, until they had a world champion.

They all waited in the airport, chatting, Excitedly waiting to leave and meet their parents back in Ohio. That's when the 'plane delayed' signal came up on the Departure Times board.

" We are stars; I'm a star! We do not need to wait!" Rachel had huffed in her usual diva-ish self.

"Dont worry, Rachel. We can just go get some replacement tickets. No big deal," Will had said, smiling crookedly as he stood up with the rest of the group to walk over to the ticket booth in the lounge area.

They had waited, Kurt standing last in line. A women stood behind him, an arm draped over her slight stomach.

"You're pregnant, and judging from the ring on your finger, your engaged too." Kurt observed bluntly, giving the women behind him the once-over.

"Yeah, I'm getting married in two days. But I have to be home tomorrow, which may not be happening." the women blushed, looking slightly unnerved.

They stood in silence afterwards, until Kurt had reached the front of the line for ticket exchange.

"You're lucky sir; this is the last ticket for the plane leaving today." The attendant informed him as he stepped up to the front desk.

Glancing behind himself, Kurt gave a weak smile as he allowed the women behind him to step up.

"Why are you doing his?" She asked softly as all her information was run through the computer.

"Let's just say I had a friend who was partially in the same problem as you," Kurt responded slyly, looking over at Quinn. She acknowledge him with a small nod and smile.

"Ah. Well, thank you. What is your name?" the young women asked pushing a strand of hair behind her ear.

Then a bell started beeping, indicating that it was time for passengers go board the last plain leaving for Ohio. "No time; good luck."

The young women, who Will would only find out was named Deborah later, followed the rest of glee club towards the gates, leaving Kurt alone.

The next day, Will woke up from a drozy haze to flick on the news as HD made breakfast. The plane had gotten in pretty late, and he'd only got a few hours of sleep.

He vaguely heard the news's muttering of plane crashes, abductions, and deaths as he ate his cereal.

Once done, he dragged himself into the kitchen yo deposit the bowl and spoon in the sink to find that his phone was buzzing.

"Hallo?" he mumbled into it, wondering who could be calling him this early. Then, staring at his microwave, he realized it was noon.

"Will?" he heard a gruff voice on the other end, meaning only one person; Kurt's father.

"Yes, Mr. Hummel?"

"I was just wondering if you could come down here to the airport. Kurts flight hasn't arrived yet, and they say that the workers need your approval as you were Kurt's guardian on the trip."

Will recalled a drowsy phone call where he'd told Burt that Kurt would be in at 11 instead of with the rest of them.

"Yea, sure," Will muttered as he walked into his room to grab some jeans and a tshirt, "be right there."

Will arrived at the airport, he also met an anxious Burt Hummel. "Sorry, is just that Kur's flight should've been in an hour and a half ago, and nobody there will tell mr anything without your 'presence'."

Will nodded as he walked up to the desk, and nearly laughed as be realized why they hasn't told Burt anything. Burt didn't have any i.d. On him.

He'd even left his drivers license in his car, which also contained his keys. The man was so nerve wracked he was leaving things in places he didn't remember.

After they ran Will's identification through the system, the young man behind the counter bit his lips and looked up at Burt and Will, his face a shade paler.

"I think you need to discuss this in private. Please follow me into the interigation rooms," the man stated, his face full of pity.

"Did Kurt do something wrong?" Mr. Schue asked as Burt demanded, "Is this about his sexuality or something?"

The young man simply responded quietly, "Neither. Please, follow me."

Burt and Will reluctantly followed the man to a room seperated off, far from anyone else.

"I'm going to be frank; the plane your son was in crashed at ten thirteen this morning. All riders are presumed dead."

Burt's face morphed into one of horror, the worst possible news delivered to him. First his wife and now his son. The only thing he could say was "No."

Burt repeated that word over and over as tears streamed down his face and into the jacket of Will Schuester, who was crying himself.

Depressing. I don't know why I killed Kurt first. But on the brightside, I filled a card of my hc bingo at the same time! Apologize for typos, I got milk on my keyboard and am too lazy to use Microsoft Word. Shall fix tomorrow.

hc bingo, burt, gle, gl, choichc, angst, kurt
