Your writing is beautiful. And I think you have Emma down really well. I can imagine her thinking like this: ...she has no idea what this is exactly, only that it scares the shit out of her.

I also love how, even though this is this wonderful moment that stands out against all the bleakness in the town (and you capture that so well -- the fog, the wolf between the trees, Henry's smile etc.), it's still grounded in reality, with all the practical difficulties and unexpected silliness of reality. Like when she is trying hard not to laugh, thinking about killing the mood to tell him she can't move, the way they're positioned -- and then inadvertently killing the mood in a much bigger (and very funny) way.

Great work! I didn't really care about this ship much before reading this, but I think you've changed my mind! :)
