There was this thread at a-i that really helped me and then I just added my own interpretations to it. The colors you choose don't really matter though, because it's all open to your own intrepretation. What's orange for one, might be purple for the other. The only thing is that there should be consistency, if one happy icon is yellow, another one that is sad can't be the same yellow, and so forth :)

these icons are very beautiful, your text work and coloring on them is mind blowing! i really love 3 there is so much feeling in this icon like i have no idea what happens in that scene but the icon is a mixture of blue and black for guilt and sadness but a touch of light which makes the blue purple? IDK IT'S JUST SO GOOD. i also love the vibrant coloring + light in 7, the light evens everything out it's so beautiful. ugh the text work in 10,11, 16 and 18 is absolutely stunning. i love the color and light 17.
