That..whoa. Beautiful. I love how you painted such a motherly picture of Elphaba with her siblings and with Glinda...and then crushed it down for Liir. I'd have to say the Shell paragraph stuck out the most for me, especially in Little Elphaba, not really that much older than he, with her chiding remarks to Father and her looking out for Nanny’s mistakes had seemed like the obvious avatar for ‘mother’. Old and wise beyond her years. And She took care of him; told him off; shouted at him; made often reluctant physical contact in the form of a hug when he cried. is just sweet, especially when imagining such a stern little girl doing those things.
