So how common is the english language used in Dubai Poodle?? I would have thought that they would shoot you for such things. =)

It's pretty common, since this country is a mix of a lot of nationalities and races.. and not everyone's comfortable with Arabic. While they don't shoot us for not speaking Arabic, they do give us dirty frowns as if we've showed up from the planet Demzon-E592 and speak nothing but Demzonese.

Haha, at the place where I used to work, we got complaints every so often that one of the Spanish-speaking guys who occasionally took orders couldn't speak English well enough, but I never would have guessed I would hear a similar complaint half way around the world in a largely non-English speaking country! lol

It's the same everywhere, I guess. Only here, they usually speak English - even if it's little - and that's just enough for a small conversation. But some people just wanna wear good clothes and look all smart, but when you try to talk to them, it turns out you can't converse with them much.
