The TV was on this morning as I was reading the paper; my khaalah (aunty) was watching a talk show on the ARY Digital channel. They had a woman on the show who had basically been dumped by her mama's-boy husband and gone into depression. To be honest, a bag of diamonds and rubies is always more pleasing than surgery, no matter how badly you need the surgery. I'm gonna make such an unethical doctor.

Yeah I thought of that when I was watching the show on TV.. I am quite sure that the reason why Dr Joshi had such a high success rate (a whopping, self-proclaimed, non-scrutinized 99%) was because of the placebo effect, because there isn't a physiological explanation for any of his claims.
I do have a soft spot for homeopathy because my aunty (not the one who was watching the show with me) is a homeopathic doctor and her stuff seems to work on my grandma's countless aches and illnesses.

People are just incredibly gullible.

I'm just thinking of all the extra mining we'd have to do to cure their illnesses.. in turn those poor miners would develop some sort of respiratory problems from breathing in all the dust.
