At the beginning of this month, I created a thread at icon_talkhere where people could ask me questions regarding my icons, and I've finally decided to do this now.
Oh yeah, that way! I see :P Well, there's something like that you can also achieve with the crop tool. While you're cropping something, on the left of those options there's something called Cropped Area, which is standard set to Delete, but you can also set it to Hide which doesn't delete the remaining areas at all, they're still there. Then you also have a 100x100px space, but you can still move the picture around until you find a good crop. I don't really use the Hide option myself, because I either have low standards or it usually just works out from the first try :P
I didn't know that! See, I still learned something new that I can actually try out, LOL! :D This certainly has changed my mind about the crop tool, I can't wait to fiddle around with it now! XD

Btw, to make it work, the layer you're cropping shouldn't be locked. So to unlock it, just double click on it and press OK :)
