This last week's been really really busy.

The IGF (now renamed as IFAM - International Festival of Arts and Music) - was on Wednesday. So we had a dress rehearsal on Monday evening. I was dancing to Bachna Ae Haseeno so our dance guru and soon-to-be doctor Prash got us plastic trumpets to use as props.
Then on Wednesday afternoon, we had a rehearsal at the Journal Tyne Theatre where the actual show was gonna be held that evening. I wanted to go back to the med school after the rehearsal, for a couple of hours to do work on my essay but I ended up having a juicy gossip afternoon with the girls from the other dance, Jogi Maahi: Kiran, Kamal and Mandy who are in my year and Syba who's a 4th year. We went to Starbucks to have generally fattening food and make innuendos about each other's love interests.
Anyway, we headed back to the Journal Tyne Theatre and had another dress rehearsal there. Our president, Sri had got samosas and pop, so we stuffed our faces.

You'll get three DESISOC points if you can guess which one I am!

Our performance itself was a big hit with the audience. The bit where I had to throw my shirt into the audience drew some woo-hoos. I forgot a step towards the end but I don't think anyone noticed. The rest of the dances were hits too. I personally really liked Beedi that Rozi choreographed. I think everyone liked our last dance, A R Rahman's Chhayya Chhayya.. it's proper catchy.
Back in the changing room, we basically had a mini party. Alekhya and I sang Ae Ganpath, Chal Daaru La a capella, which was quite impressive. Good times!

Then the next night (i.e., last night) we had our second gig of the year at The Attic. This one was called Chocolate and Champagne. I can't remember who came up with the idea but it was obviously a hit because over 200+ people came (and that's a big number for a university the size of ours!). We'd spent weeks planning and publicizing it. All that cheeky flyering! And trying to sell tickets at lunchtime.. it all paid off!
We hired a chocolate fountain and got dips like marshmallows, chopped strawberries and the like to go with it. People went absolutely bananas over the chocolate fountain, so much so that I had to keep sweeping the floor of the fountain to prevent the dips from getting stuck in the system.

That's most of Desisoc's committee this year, from left: Ash, Sri, Tanvi, Rash, me, Rozi, Sangita, Afsar

I'm gonna miss all the excitement around the gig!
