What the heck...I started my diet almost 2 weeks ago and I've already lost 8 pounds and that's BEFORE I've started dedicated exercising. I'm planning on water aerobics this week and hopefully move up to light strength training next week. I have to talk to my doctor about ye olde bad right knee on Friday to find out WTF is going on with it...
Three month goal is -30 lbs. I have to do measurements and all that but I can't do the pictures because that violates my therapy agreement (with regards to my eating disorder past).
But yeah I need to get in better shape before Dragon*Con. :)
I am totally up for joining in! I've actually already started a plan of my own (hence being up at 5:30am), and started charting things that I'm doing and any results I might see over at fat_on_fridays. Feel free to follow that if you like. My current goal is to lost 15 pounds by Dragon*Con, though the overall goal is to lost 70 pounds. Right now I'm drinking considerably more water than I had been, and trying to make it to the gym three days a week. Ideally I'd want to go every morning, but I know me, so I won't sweat three good sessions. I do double cardio on Tues/Thurs and cardio + weights on Mon/Wed/Fri. I'm not making any diet changes currently, other than the water.
good luck! i've done the 30 day shred video a few times and it's really intense. definitely use 3lb weights like she says, lol, they may seem ridiculously small and light but you'll feel it! :) it's a great workout. hopefully i can get myself as motivated as you! :D
I'd love to keep up with this.... I've been doing physical therapy since last fall. I "graduated" meaning I know what to do, and don't need to waste the gas driving to and from the therapist anymore.
To that end, I got a stationery bike, as that's how I warm my leg muscles up before weight lifting, etc.
I need to get more formal about it, though, and posting it to other people so they can see would be a big help! I've never done an LJ community, though.... how's that work?
My goal is to build strength, stamina, flexibility, and improve my balance if at all possible. In the interests of not needing the cane or the wheelchair.
Hmmm.... you've got me thinking. This is a good thing! : ) Also, been doing laps with the kids at Coney. Which damn near kills me, but I let my heart slow and breathing settle between each lap, in the interest of not drowning in the middle of the pool. *wry grins* It helps.
I'm going to set up a notebook, and start recording my progress. Xiexie!!
