Who: temporalwater and tembleques + squirrels What: oh.. creature shenanigans... When: AT SOME POINT IN TIME Where: a lake! Warnings: two Kandas, one merman, and a pair of squirrels. two plus two equals...
[he's been led through the bushes by the skipping squirrels. it has taken them an amount of hours to get used to the brash exorcist's attitude-but now they flock to him and lead him helplessly to where they prefer, unafraid of his reactions. one thing they were good for however was their instinct to run to quiet, desolate places
( ... )
[perhaps it's instinct the way he can discern the footsteps of an animal from that of a human. it's the latter that has Kanda ducking under the water. only when he's a far distance away from the shore does he turn around, only barely rippling the surface of the lake.
there's the unperceived widening of his eyes when he sees that his sudden company-- is himself. or is it? there's never a lack of shapeshifters, but there is a lack of reason why one of them would take on his form. human, perhaps? he's learned how dangerous they can be the hard way. he's not up to taking that chance again.
so rather than approaching and investigating, he stays where he is. just watching, for now.]
[the clothes are inspected for another moment, the shuffling of material unnatural to the surrounding sounds. no sign of the familiar ash and dirt left behind by an akuma attack-not on the clothes nor on the surrounding grass. something as grime as a human body undergoing the process of its inevitable return to dirt enhanced to fractions of a second were not easily dispersed or rid of if left on its own. wind did not seem to travel with ease towards this clearing.
turning away and his gaze returning to the shrubbery where the squirrels were doing as they willed, kanda does not relent however. even if the chance of akuma in this new world he had found himself in was unlikely, the possibility of other creatures-dangerous creatures-was enough reason to stay on his guard. so as he stands, still as a statue, senses alert, one of the squirrels doesn't hesitate to bite a stem with berries and climb up his trousers

[so far, the.. human? doesn't seem to be too threatening. aside from holding that sword, he seems quite calm. but also alert. not a careless human, at least. smart.
he follows the gaze to where the critters are, now more interested in them than the human. it has, in fact, also been a long time since he's interacted with nature. Freaks make up a large majority of his company, and there are few creatures in the underground reservoirs.
he finds himself drifting closer in spite of the potential threat- just a bit, just enough to get a better look. keeping an eye on both the human and the.. the other little thing.]
