Oh My Stars and Garters...

I did the bench press at the gym for the first time in years on Saturday, and I am paying the price today... I'm SO SORE! Which is really weird, because I felt okay yesterday. What's with the delayed soreness? I remember when I benched for the first time back in 1996, I could barely lift my backpack the next day (I was a high school junior). Now, ( Read more... )

They should totally release Wayne's World 3 eventually... would be nice. I'm not excited at all about Mike Myers as a love guru.

I'll have to check that out as a torrent at some point!

Mike Myers has always been hit-or-miss with me. I love most of his SNL characters (Wayne, Philip, etc.), but absolutely hated his Linda Richman character. I couldn't fast-forward fast enough when one of those sketches came on! As for Austin Powers, the first movie was okay, the second was decent, and then by the time the third one came out... Well, I was just done with it. The Love Guru looks... Stupid. But I'll still Netflix it. Wayne's World 3 would be awesome!

Did you forget he is also the voice behind Shrek? The first two Shrek movies are AMAZING. I never liked Austin Powers - any of them - and always wondered what the fuss was all about. I don't think I ever saw any of them in the theaters. I think he was great in both Wayne's World movies, the first two Shreks, and I think that's just about it. Maybe Love Guru will be worth a rental, but I doubt it. Then again, I did rent Superbad, so after that, anything can be worth a rental!

Mike Myers just goes way over the top most of the time, unfortunately...

Heh, I did forget about the Shreks, actually. I agree, the first two were good (the third, not so much). But how much input did Mike really have on those? I don't think he received any writing credits for them.

I didn't actually see most of this, but I did catch the Ben Stiller/RDJ/Jack Black sketch and died laughing.

THAT was awesome!

Jack Black: "Why do we care what your nephew thinks?"
Ben Stiller: "Because he's a guy who saw Iron Man three times."
Robert Downey Jr.: "Hey, how's it going? Glad you enjoyed the movie..."
Ben's Nephew: "It'll do... At least until Dark Knight comes out... Christian Bale could kick your ass."

I wish there was consistent comedy like that SOMEwhere on TV. I would totally watch a Stiller/Black/Downey show now I think haha.

We almost DID have a show like that at one point - do a YouTube search for "Heat Vision and Jack."
