Maybe I'm getting older, maybe the new bands just aren't as good, but only one debut (Sleigh Bells) made my top 10 and every other "new" artist in my list previously made their mark in another great band (Sleater-Kinney, Nine Inch Nails, Bloc Party). Sleigh Bells was a top NPR pick too on "All Songs Considered". Or course, the fact that I knew this might speak to my own taste. *grin*
