I watched this movie last night. It didn't take me long at all to realize that I was totally for Raoul and I have a pretty strong dislike for Erik or the Phantom

i loved the music of the film, and almost got lost in it, hehe... that's why i loved the phantom, because he sang so well! and christine too, ofcourse!

i remember, when i read the book, i felt so sorry for the character...like you said, he's deeply flawed, and everything about him is distorted and perverted... but he's not a normal person, therefore, he doesn't have normal reactions, which is why he's a perfect tragic subject, because he induces both 'horror' and 'pity' in us.

(sorry, i just went all english-literature-studentish on you!) hehe!

I've been listening to the music and I am completely obsessed. I want to read the book too. I mean I can definitely see why people love the Phantom, like in the song Point of no Return he is so amazing and passionate.
