Awwwww, yay! Finally a happy ending to a chapter. I sense makeup-sex approaching. :D
Oh, I'm so glad Sam finally told Dean that he did the same thing for Sam, and of course he would this time too. I understand Dean's pissed - especially with Sam's current deal - but yeah, he needs to get a grip.
Whether Sam meant to get mad or not, Dean kind of needed him to in the sense that Dean seriously needs to get some perspective, cause he definitely wasn't looking at this from any angle but that of being ticked off about it, not thinking for a minute how Sam must've felt when he made the deal in the first place.
Yeah, I'm having worries about that truck driver, too. I mean, hitchhiking is always risky, but in Supernaturalverse it is downright suicidal. On the other hand, even if he turns out to be a demon, there was BBQ. (I lived in the South for years. It mostly didn't suit me, but oh, I miss the food).
Yeah, I think one of Dean's blind spots is that he can't acknowledge that other people may feel the same desperation and make the same sacrifices that he does. It's the dark side of his intense loyalty and focus on others -- sometimes he's focusing on them and on giving to them so much that he doesn't even see them.
heh, yeah there traditionally have been certain dangers associated with doing anything with random people in their world. T.T (and ooo yes...southern food is awesome. I haven't ever had Memphis barbecue myself but my dad used to live there and I hear it's great.)
I definitely agree...Dean puts so much into looking after the people he loves and he has such low self esteem that I don't think he ever really thinks that they could care just as much about him. :/
I'm really glad that you liked Dean leaving, because I was afraid that people wouldn't because they'd think he wouldn't leave, but that was exactly what I was going for, keeping in line with what we've seen on the show so I thought it was in character for him to leave just for a little while because he wasn't really planning to stay gone just to go and calm down and...yeah. Anyway, I'm really really glad that worked for you, too, ^^
The girl who died saving her best friend? Yeah, that would do it.
Dean had taken off, all spinning gravel and receding taillights, and Sam had been glad he went. At first. Nice description!
Maybe it's just because there are so many points of convergence between the two realities, but I'm worried about Sam hitching a ride with some nameless guy. How about a 'Christo', Sammy, just to be safe?

Thanks so much! :)

Excellent as usual, I love how steady Sam is this time around in the face of Dean's freak-outs, and I love how Dean panics when he thinks Sam's gone.
Don't trust Carl or Caleb or whatever one little bit, though.

Panicking Dean makes me want to hug him, lol
Thank you! :D

I'm glad Sam didn't lie - that never works out well.
I like the 'Dean leaves' thing - it's true, too - we saw it on Show - nice way to bring the continuity into your fic! :)
