General rules for warning

  1. Include all warnings in the subject line of your prompt / fill. If not all will fit, continue them in bold before the prompt in the comment section.
  2. When in doubt, warn for it. If there's a trigger you have in your fill and it's not on the list and you're not sure whether to warn for it or not, just do. It's always better to be safe than sorry.
  3. If your anonymous prompt or fill is missing warnings, then it will be deleted. If your non-anonymous prompt of fill is missing warnings, then it will be screened so you can re-prompt or re-post, afterwards, the original will be deleted.
  4. You don't have to use our exact wording for warnings, just make sure you warn for whatever it may be.
  5. If you come across a unwarned for prompt or fill, come and tell us mods! It's what we're here for. We promise we won't call you a nark or anything.
Your prompt / fill should look something like this (change as needed):
Jack/Steve sex behind the army camp TW: homophobia, poss. rwsd

Common Questions

1. What is a trigger warning?
A trigger warning is exactly what it sounds like. It's a warning to the potential reader that, hey, there maybe a couple of iffy     things in here, beware! In a less lengthy way, it's like a buyer beware sticker.

2. So what's a trigger then?
A trigger can be anything really. Typically, we warn for major or common triggers, such as instances of war, misogyny, gore, etc.

3. Okay, then why should we warn for it?
Because it's common decency! A trigger can be very hurtful and bring up very painful memories to some people.

So now that we've got all that out of the way, here's a list of common triggers that you must warn for in the title of your prompt.
  • abduction / kidnapping
  • ableism
  • abortion / miscarriage / stillbirth
  • abuse (child, domestic, animal, emotional, etc)
