that's shocking! their planes are so old and rattley. we know not to fly united but this flight was like $1000 cheaper than others so we took the bait... never again!
I don't really like United either, their planes are pretty old and the outfitting is pretty old. Unfortunately they are HP's preferred airline. I haven't had any major customer service problems though. The one thing I like about United is "Channel 9", where you can listen in to the radio communications. I think it's probably only on US domestic flights though, I've never been on an international flight where it's been switched on (not that there would be much radio chatter going over the Pacific).
exactly; old uncomfortable planes. their customer service has taken a nose dive. last time we flew united, i was 15 years old i think. now it just seems they have less staff, are less accommodating to passengers and just don't care in general. the flight on sunday got cancelled and they left passengers sitting on the plane and in the airport for like 6 hours without any food or water... how cruel is that? Hopeless!
I feel like I have been as well. I haven't seen you in ages! I still have that double pass for The Hills Have Eyes for us to use! Maybe we can see it during the day on Friday. You got Friday off, didn't you?
they've also cancelled meals on international flights! or at least have done so on occasion.. so you have to purchase them, meaning special requests (eg veg) arnt available. that's so messed up. i did go on a NICE united 777 from washington to london though, that was a wonderful flight.. - rod
mum just rang. she got upgraded to "economy plus" whatever that is and said the seating was pretty good. BUT we ordered veg meals and she didnt get them!? rude! she said the food was really gross... i wonder if that's because there aren't veg meals available? we werent told that when we booked. bastards.

also, when we took off one of the ceiling panels near my seat actually popped out. and when we landed it almost fell on the floor!
a terribly comfortable flight, as you can probably tell.
