[Thirty Ninth Case]: [Locked from Hostiles]

Sep 18, 2009 18:21

I just got back from visiting Onizuka in the hospital. He's awake, doing... better than expected, but he's still got a couple of days before he's fully recovered.

Not that it's stopping him from trying to escape...

No, it's not. We can only hope he's actually listening to some of my reasoning, though. For once.

What about all that crap he was ( Read more... )

You know, instead of feeling sorry for yourself, you can see if the other people that are affected by this are holding up alright. That'll help.

I'm not feeling sorry for myself. I'm feeling sorry for her. What's wrong with that, after all the crap she went through?

Don't reflect too much on what happened. The past is the past for a reason. If you let it keep on haunting you, you'll never get a damn thing done. End of story.

If you don't look at the past, you don't learn for the future. I made a mistake, Haku got damaged, Onizuka got hurt and Phasco was taken away. I can accept that. But I'm sure as hell not going to forget that it happened.

And this isn't the first time I've had to work through something haunting me.

... So the perpetrator didn't leave any physical evidence.

The logical conclusion is that he had no physical evidence to leave.

Much to my partner's assertions that there can't be a ghost in the Digital World, I'm more inclined to agree with you on that one.

Lotta damage for some one who couldn't leave anything behind. Onizuka looked like he'd gone through a meat grinder.

Any ideas?

Oh... and... anyway to replace a D-Comm?

[Attached: Picture of Haku's mangled comm] I don't see this one working again.

I imagine there is. We can take it to the wizards in Tetha.

And I believe there was rumors about a criminal with... ghostly abilities. There's also some digimon that can operate intangibly. Haku could probably tell us more.

Probably. I don't have a clue when she'll be awake again, or when she'll be up to talking about it. Kats repaired most of the damage but her systems need a little more time to come back online. She got pretty fried, internally and externally.

Please tell me you're not thinking of going on another hunt Shanoa. Your last one didn't exactly end well sister.

Only because I made the mistake of giving that creature a chance to surrender. I'm not going to let up at all next time.

If you really think it's a good idea... though the way whoever it was put Onizuka through the ringer doesn't give me a lot of hope for a one-on-one fight going very well.

My specialty is destroying supernatural creatures, and while I don't mean to belittle your friend's skill, I 've faced off against monsters much worse then a ghost.

Then mind explaining why your last battle didn't go over so well?

...They got lucky. Besides, I didn't technically lose. In the end, they ran before I could unearth myself from the ruble they tried to bury me in.

Yeah, and left you with cracked ribs, a gash along your side, and a completely decimated breastplate.

... *Nothing said here, just giving Witchmon the look now.*

shutting up now...

Yeaaah she sounds like the kind of person I wouldn't recommend pissing off, dude.

Well... for pulling that crap with my family, I'd love to take the guy on myself, but there's no way I'd win. So... if you want him, go for it.

Yes.

... well.

Look, Oni. Physically she'll be okay. But I really don't know how she's gonna take losing her partner and seeing you get stabbed.

Can you tell me where this took place? I'm trying to form a pattern to his appearances...

One or two, yes...

Thank you. We're going to try and bring him in. You have my most sincere apologies that we weren't there to help in her time of need.
