There had been a lot of yelling on the phone call last night. Not on Adrian's part, but on his father's. Apparently you could only get away with staying in a strange town supposedly unguardianless racking up charged for your parents to pay for so long before you had to get hauled back home. Rose wasn't sure what she thought about this whole thing. She was dressed something close to guardian-appropriate as she showed up to knock at Adrian's door after his phone call.

Trying to shake the cat off his foot so he could move, Adrian tried to give a real smile as he opened the door. "Little dhampir, you came." He wouldn't be calling her that for another two years, he supposed.

"Yeah, well, you called, didn't you?" Rose snarked as she stepped into the room and looked around. "Seriously? You're really going? What's up with that?"

"I'm really going," he said, smile disappearing. "My father's apparently had it with my antics, which is what I kept hearing, over and over and over again, so it's back to Court until I resume college in the fall. This is not by choice."

Dimitri arrived and looked between Adrian and the cat. "You can't just shove it into the hall and expect it to fend for itself." Even Adrian wasn't that cruel.

"You say that like it would ever actually leave me," Adrian pointed out. He knew it wouldn't. The thing was too attached, and Adrian was the one who fed him, so the cat wouldn't go anywhere. "I'm probably going to have to take it back to Court. That'll go well."

"That depends, does your aunt approve of pets?" Dimitri asked, not having heard whether or not Adrian kept a cat when last they were at Court.

"It's not her I'm worried about," Adrian admitted, looking down at the cat trying to paw at his leg again because it wasn't getting quite enough attention. "If nothing else, I can find someone who'll take it, I bet." And then he might see it again. So he had a soft side. Sue him.
