The Caribbean Club, Key Largo, Florida, Saturday night

Feb 25, 2017 20:16

The music was live and laid-back, the drinks were cold, and the bar food was good. Not as good as at Luke's or the Portland pub, but still pretty decent. Parker was tapping her foot to the music and nibbling on chips and salsa.

"Are you guys ready to go back yet?" To the boat or to Fandom, she wasn't specifying which.

[for the guys]

Eliot took a long pull on his beer and shrugged. "I ain't in any hurry."

That was the joy of being on vacation. No hurrying.

Right, like Parker wouldn't just as happily slow dance with a ghost. Eliot rolled his eyes and shook his head.

He was not nearly drunk enough to dance. There was maybe not an actual drunken state that would both get him to dance and leave him in a physical state where it'd be possible.

Giving up for the moment, Parker went to dance with the Key Largo version of a biker. Which was, well, a biker, but a bit more laid back and wearing a Hawaiian shirt. Not slow-dance though. Ick.

Now the band was doing a rather weird cover of Don't Fear the Reaper and she was back to dancing with the ghost again. Or maybe the Bogie statue at the edge of the dance floor.

And, as promised, Eliot was perfectly happy just watching.

He had the waiter send the biker dude a beer. Which might possibly result in hilarious misunderstandings, but hey. It was the gentlemanly thing to do, right?

More than likely, yes. The biker guy sent him a flirty look and blew him a kiss just as Parker wandered back to their table again.

"So next time we come back, we're either finding buried treasure, or we're stealing a ship."

Eliot waved back and shrugged sheepishly. Sorry, biker dude. You were cute, but Eliot actually already had almost more than he could handle.

"We did kinda run out of time this week." On the other hand, they'd thoroughly broken in that boat.

In every way possible! Dottie really would've been proud of them. Hopefully.

"Yeah, in between the fishing and swimming and sexing." Not sexting. That was something else. "But I wouldn't change it. Just come back and do the stuff we missed." She grinned, reaching for his drink. "Treasure treasure treasure."

"Y'all know we ain't even remotely equipped for the kinda treasure huntin' they do out here, right? We're talking deep sea scuba gear and high powered sonar and the like."

Parker pointed at Hardison while giving Eliot an amused look. "How long until we have our own underwater sub, do you think?"

"Oh lord, where would we even store it?"

"Ummmm, in a new underwater pier that we'd have to acquire?" Parker was ready to bet they could con the owners of the Boardwalk out of some spaces.

"Y'all're gonna end up with a private island, ain't ya." Sooner rather than later, even. It'd kind of been destined to happen with Hardison anyway.

"Sophie has one," Parker pointed out. "Somewhere. We should find that out when we want to surprise her." She grinned. "So that's a yes on finding treasure next time."

"You know I could teach you how to dance, right?" Hardison asked.

...From his spot lounging against the bar and watching Parker dance, too, yes.

"I could teach my own damn self how to dance if I wanted," Eliot grumbled. "Still perfectly happy just watchin' her do it."

"Yeah, but I could teach you how to do it well," Hardison sassed. "What's wrong with dancin' anyway? There some kinda rule, like 'it ain't a sport if you can't score on defense'?"
