The Caribbean Club, Key Largo, Florida, Saturday night

Feb 25, 2017 20:16

The music was live and laid-back, the drinks were cold, and the bar food was good. Not as good as at Luke's or the Portland pub, but still pretty decent. Parker was tapping her foot to the music and nibbling on chips and salsa.

"Are you guys ready to go back yet?" To the boat or to Fandom, she wasn't specifying which.

[for the guys]

Eliot took a long pull on his beer and shrugged. "I ain't in any hurry."

That was the joy of being on vacation. No hurrying.

"Me neither," Parker said contentedly, swiping Hardison's drink and taking a sip of it, then drinking from her own. "I've been thinking we should do a couple jobs when we get back." And check on Kathy and Raven. But she finally felt relaxed enough that that wasn't intimidating. "But right now I want to dance."

"Be my guest, darlin'," Eliot said, gesturing with the top of his beer bottle. "I'm happy to watch."

Parker got up as the band started up a raucous version of Bad to the Bone, and held out her hands. "Somebody dance with me!"

"You really askin' if I'm ready to go back to that cold weather?" Hardison asked, shivering theatrically. "Hell naw. I think we should move here forever an' live on the boat full-time."

He did not. Though the weather was much nicer here, where it was both warm and not full of random things.

Parker cuddled closer to him because of that shiver, and said, "We'd have to bring all the people to be here with us. And then the Island might get mad." Maybe that would be a bad idea? "...but we can come back this summer, right? And find doubloons?"

"...Now you got me wonderin' if we can't just steal the whole damn island an' haul it down here," Hardison said, thinking about that giant city of computers under the surface.

"An' hell yeah we can. Though we'll probably also have to go to Key Campground or whatever it's called. You know, the one Eliot wants to visit?"

"Maybe that would make it less deadly," Parker speculated. "Key Campground? Wait, I don't remember this."
