I had my throat ultrasound this afternoon. It's pretty hard to tell what you are seeing on the screen when you are upside down and backwards, but there seemed to be a few large-ish dark spots in my throat. I am assuming this is not a GOOD THING. They could be cysts I guess. I am trying not to panic myself too much, because I don't know anything,

Probably nodules, most of which are benign, so I've been told. Sometmes, they can produce the thyroid hormone and can either be controlled by drugs or by removing the thyroid. Or they can just sit there and do nothing. But, and this is again just what I've been told by the various health care professionals I've seen, if they are large and cause problems with swallowing or breathing they most likely will remove the thyroid. Hang in there!
