Because it's free, I mean.
You can host your own vent and it houses more than 8 people. You can't even buy the rights to host your own vent server because their licensing requires you to host 1000 minimum and then charges you per person after that. It's crap. TS is free for private and educational use, with no limits on how many people you can have.

Unfortunately, most people don't use TS =/

its true, not a lot of people use TS. When I was in my Ragnarok Online days, only a handful of us even used TS... such a shame because TS is awesome for coordinating castle raids and hunting MvPs...
