I thought she was awesome but I, too, am sad that he couldn't at least get one kiss from Rose. Or even Martha. Or Jack. Not Mickey. Maybe Jackie.

I had never thought about that, but it was true. Blargh! He should have just grabbed Rose when he was back in 2005 and given her a New Year's kiss. She could have written it off as him bein' drunk.

I like to imagine that he did slip through the Rift, but in transit he was transformed into Shaun. And he's keeping the disguise because imagine if Sylvia knew about it.

I read the book he wrote about writing first 4 series of Doctor Who, and writing Torchwood, and wish those who view him negatively and so critically would read just what it took for him to do what he did, accomplish what he did. Maybe they'd hush up then, and appreciate what they do have, and what those involved went through to make the shows such successes.

I've read that book too, and while I enjoyed reading it, and while I admire RTD for many things, and love most of what he's done with New Who, it didn't make me like CoE any better.

Appreciating the good doesn't preclude your ability to critique what you find not as good. Critical thinking doesn't mean "thinking full of hate."
