time_and_chips have had two interesting threads on people's peeves and pleasures in Doctor/Rose fic. Some very interesting discussion there on Nine/Rose vs Ten/Rose and why people can like one but not the other, can Rose be happy post-Doomsday? and whether Rose popping out some Time Tots is an inherently bad idea, but I thought I'd throw the question open for

Lets see, ah, I'd quite like there to be loads of fic set in an imagined gap between Girl in the Fireplace and Rise of the Cybermen with Ten, Rose and Mickey travelling in the Tardis, because I think that would be fab. More Rose/Mickey fic, either pre-series or post-Doomsday, with the proviso that she should have to groval a bit to get him back, basically more fic where Rose realises the total hotness of Mickey. More old-school fic, because as much as I love the new series there can never be too much old-school fic. More old-school/new school crossovers. And if I never hear about Rose being the Doctor's one true love again it'll be too soon.

That's not too much to ask, is it?

Master!fic, and Rani!fic. There's nowhere near enough of either for me (especially the latter - even when she's Ushas, she's almost always background to Koschei/Theta), so I'm constantly whorish about making people write them when I can. And good Master!fic is so tricksy. A-curses on pantomime villain nonsense.

And though it's not entirely old skool, Romana/Ten has reached this point where it's really, really noticeable that we have a problem (that's not quite the right word) with the You Blew Up My Planet thing. And it can either be acknowledged (so it has to be dealt with, and that's tricky to make the Dealing With It satisfying and not mess-up whatever story/pr0n you're actually trying to tell and not repeat what's been said dozens of times already) or side-step it so there's this Pink Elephant in the room.

I can easily see it as the kind of issue that just sits beneath the surface, underpinning all of their interactions, but surely that would, um, take the zany comedy level down a bit? Or the pr0n levels or the romance factor or whatever

I am one of many in a lobbying group campaigning to get uktechgirl to write her Fifth Doctor-Turlough crime fighting team fic. As such I extend my support to Eight-Ten pretty crime fighting as well!

With you both having an Ace'n'Hex thing as well - goodness there could be one huge Five-Eight-Ten, Turlough-Ace-Hex crime fighting fic series. Set in Cardiff perhaps? ;)

I've long been an advocate of Rose and Sarah fighting crime, or a crack ex-UNIT team of Sarah, Liz and Jo. Or Ten and Donna. Perhaps some sort of They Fight Crime! challenge is in order?

What would you be happy never to see in fic again?

Babyfic, Rose regenerating, the use of Bad Wolf as a plot device, rapefic where the victim enjoys the experience, mpreg, Rose as "the most speshul companion ever", the Doctor's secret twin/parent/child, songfic, Reinette and Martha bashing in particular (those two get the worst of it), Theta as the Doctor's real name (it's acceptable IF used sparingly and acknowledged to be a nickname), for starters. I've read rare good exceptions to most of the above, but in general those sorts of fics just make me cringe.

What do you wish there was more of?
In exact order: More stories about Doctors Four, Five, Seven, Eight, Six, Two, Three, and One. (Ten and Nine are my least favorites.)
More parodies.
Crackfic.
K9 stories.
Audio!fic.
Crossing time streams.
Multi-Doctor fic.
More "What if?" scenarios.

What's the crossover that must be written now?
I'm not really into crossovers.

Hey, no problem. :) And yes, it is a Smothers Brothers reference. Because "Chocolate" is possibly the best song known to humanity. Right up there with their version of "Streets of Laredo" anyway. ;)
