For info, which yarn to buy, etc, for the 4 scarf, go to witthylittleknitter.com. Tardis Tara runs the site, and it's amazing. My favorite yarn is the cascade 220, but if you want a washable scarf, there's Vanna's choice. I've made about 5 so far, Maybe 6. It get confusing.
Also, if you haven't already found it, check out Ravelry. They are an online computer community and they have a special site for those trying to make the scarf--just search for Doctor Who scarf--they are a great inspiration to me, and you might find the Rose scarf pattern there! Good luck.
:D awesome thank you so much! I'm trying to find the right yarn now, my local fabric store doesn't have many of the brands of yarn (I live in the middle of nowhere) , so I think if I can't find them I'll have to buy them online.
I have found that even the biggest stores do not carry all the colors, and with some yarns they won't order less than ten skeins, all of which you have to agree to buy. So I usually buy my yarn online. I can't recommend any one site--you may find stuff on sale at Jimmy Bean, for example, but two of the colors are sold out...so you just have to keep Googling. Use wittylittleknitter to help you pick your yarn brand, then write down the color numbers, then go hunting. Warning: there is one site out there that will pop up if you simply Google 4 scarf or something like that, and while the guy who runs the site is cool and an amazing knitter and has the pattern right, he advocates combining many different kinds of yarns--even different weights--to get the desired effect. In order to pull this off you would have to change needle sizes A LOT, be an expert in tension control--and washing the scarf would be a nightmare because different yarns behave differently when wet. :D thank you so much for the advise! yes, I found that site first when I was looking for the pattern, and I didn't like it that there were many different kinds of yarn, I think that is easier to follow the instructions from wittylittleknitter :) I'm getting nervous about this project and I haven't even started it.
I actually just made up my own garter stitch version with yarns from joann fabrics. I did it for my best friend a few years back and she gets so many compliments on it, that I began selling them! lol
The pattern dragonsinger954 posted is the closest I've actually seen to Rose's.

Hey there again--I looked about and found my favorite yarn store--it's called Angelika's and it's in Oregon, and they have the best stock around, or usually do. You very well might be able to find everything you want there.

A while back I bought a lot of yarn, telling myself I was going to knit season 12 4 scarves for all my friends. HAHAHAHAHA. Well, I did for two. Three, if you count the rainbow version one. But what I'm getting at is I have MANY of all the Cascade 220 colors, and would be happy to let you have a set (enough for a scarf) for next to nothing. Actually, nothing. We could work out something on postage. Really, it's going to sit there for quite a while. And it's been in an x-large ziploc bag so no way have moths been at it. You use a size 6 US needle for this yarn, some people use a 7--I like the way it knits up on the 6--tight, but not stiff. Anyway, the offer stands. Message me if you are interested.
