Thank you for the comment, and I'm glad you enjoyed it, and found it funny! I love writing humour, but don't seem to let myself do that often enough, so it's been lovely to get nice feedback for this little ficlet. :-) I've for long wanted to try putting a bit of steampunk into Doctor Who, and the Jamie and Victoria era of the show (which I've been intensely watching lately) just seemed so right for it, what with them both being away from their own historical times.
Also liked the coal ash poop. That's the kind of weird realism I wish I saw more of, lol.
Hee! I think for this I'm indebted to Gail Carriger's wonderful Finishing School series (fun and witty Victorian steampunk YA), which has a delightful little mechanical sausage dog who also has occasional "deposits" from what I remember. I may of course have also been unconsciously channeling my rodent-owner experiences from childhood. ;-)
