Better a few days late than never...

50th Anniversary Fanwork-a-thon-a-thon, Round Ten: Two

(Secondary prompt: The TARDIS)Well, friends, the 50th anniversary continues to race towards us, thrillingly yet slightly terrifyingly. The spoilers are coming thick and fast, as is the fan-moaning about this and that (guilty of a bit of that myself!) It ( Read more... )

I'll grab the 26th again. If I can't come up with something for Two then I most certainly should be able to write something for the TARDIS!

(Also, thank you, as ever, for the rambling and hilarious Doctor summary. It really perked up my day)

Ah yes, your usual table; reserved it for you, obviously. ;) I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

And yeah, I do tend to go on a bit in these posts, but it keeps me amused - glad I'm not the only one! ;D

Don't faint, but while I can't quite commit to a date (yet), I will commit to fic for this month! I am planning a TARDIS-centric story both for the 50th Ficathon and for hc_bingo, so it can go here, too, right? :-)

Also, how do you feel about a rec set as an entry for who_at_50? I'm not quite sure yet about it, but am thinking about maybe doing one for Two and for One, if that was an option? (Two entries in one month might start to make up for my shocking absence all year, right?) I thought as well as being my Two (and then One) era rec-sets, they could be an interactive post with more recs in the comments, and providing a nice hub for works for these two, who are the most under-represented Doctors.

Excuse me, I've just had to pick myself up off the floor after falling off the chair... ;)

I kid! That's great news. Glad you're feeling up to it, and of course it can go here - the more the merrier, I would say. And glad to be getting something from you - I look forward to it. :)

I feel pretty good about rec sets, as it happens. All forms of fan endeavour are welcome, and anybody is free to post anything vaguely 50th anniversary-related to the comm. And you're right, One and Two do need more love generally. I think the idea of an interactive rec post is a really good one as well, and just the sort of thing the comm needs. Please, feel free to post them to the comm and I look forward to seeing them. I'm not sure how the posting permissions work, because some people seem to be able to post without me ever giving them permission whereas others get shunted into the mod queue, but that's okay. So yes, strongly anticipating whatever you come up with. :)

Thanks! The fic will happen, although I don't know quite when. :-)

I'm a little less sure about the rec sets, but it's good to know they're okay, so I will see what can be done for them.

And mod queues happen, I know, so thanks & I'll just assume that at some point you'll rescue me from it, or poke you if you don't.

I'm sure it will be worth waiting for. :)

I'm not sure we've had anybody posting rec sets-as-fanwork yet, but it does seem like something the comm should be doing - bringing this stuff to people's attention who might not otherwise be aware of it. And as you say, some Doctors need the love more than others. So I will keep an eye out for any mod queue notifications (but a poke if I'm being slow/distracted would be very welcome).

I should have done this a long time ago but... *deep breath* I won't be committing to a specific date this time. We both know i'm hopeless I can't be tied down with deadlines. ;D

A free-spirited approach; I approve! And you know I will hold you to all of these fanworks, however long it may take you (no pressure at all, then). I'm keeping a list, you know. ;D

I just hope my brain-fog lifts soon enough that I'll be able to write anything of substance.

No doubt, once I post these in 2014 it'll just be me and a Russian spambot. ;D

Sounds like the beginning of a beautiful friendship if you ask me ;D

I'll be brave and join in, with posting on the 31st. (because apparently Doctor Who fic takes me a while, but I NEED deadlines or I just fritter away at nothing for ages.)

also, how do you feel about pieces doing double duty? for example writing a TARDIS themed piece for the 31st and also using it to fill a square for my hurt/comfort bingo card. (or possibly ladies bingo. or both.)

Excellent - the 31st it is! Gives you a bit of time to get those creative gears grinding... ;)

And I feel pretty good indeed about pieces doing double duty - if you're writing anything for another ficathon or challenge and it fits with our monthly themes, then please feel free to use it as your entry here. :)
