Interesting! I kind of like that funky Cyberman design...

Yes, sort of spindly and skeletal as opposed to the hulking giants that they have been in the live action series. Easier when you don't have to worry about the man inside the costume, I guess... ;)

It does look a lot like most of the other sf-tinged cartoons that were around at the time, though. No doubt K9 would have been the "funny" animal sidekick along the lines of Snarf or something...

IT'S... SO... 80S...

Besides that, I... don't find it absolutely horrifying? White-haired Doctor with red-rimmed glasses and ridiculous trenchcoat = not a bad design, all things considered (I have no doubts that trenchcoat probably exists in some corner of the TARDIS wardrobe).

Also that Bessie? Is exactly what Bessie would've been like if the production team had had the budget for it during the Jon Pertwee era. Don't deny it. She already had a hyperdrive and an anti-thief device.

Except possibly also with tailfins. ;)

Why is K9 a computerized bag? He's called K9 for a reason...

Aside from that... Whoo, Nelvana! Being from Canada, I watched a lot of the cartoons they produced. It would have been neat to see their take on Doctor Who.

I think that K-9 the handbag was my biggest *head tilt* moment when first seeing this artwork. Well, that and the tank!Daleks...

Being from Canada also, I... don't remember a single thing produced by Nelvana, but I might also be in the wrong age demographic for those memories to exist. It would've been neat to have had our own weird little corner of Canadian produced canon though.

Among other things, Nelvana did Care Bears and Inspector Gadget, two shows which were on a lot when I was home for lunch during elementary school. If they had done a Doctor Who show, I'm sure it would have aired on YTV or CBC and played non-stop. Ooh, and I bet they would have hired Canadian voice actors, too.

Maybe in some crazy, alternative universe there's a Canadian Doctor, albeit in animated form.

Oh man, Care Bears and Inspector Gadget were two of my favourites growing up.

Hot DAMN. I mean, it's so very 80s and it's giving me a pang of nelvana-nostalgia, being a Canadian 80s kid myself, but I'm not convinced it would have been good...

.... I have nothing good to say about that besides "80's Canadian goofyness... Nice" so... yeah.
