I suspect this may relate to the story that I refrained from posting about here last week because nobody online who might be in the know seemed to believe it was true. If that does turn out to be the case, it's obviously nowhere near as exciting as the unearthing of new "lost" episodes or whatever, but it's enough to be going

I made a bit of an irrational noise at this. The recons of Power of the Daleks that I've watch were very poor quality and it was difficult to tell what was going on. I'm excited to see this animated version mostly because the audio will presumably have been cleaned up and enhanced, but also because I actually really like the animated reconstructions that have been done so far.

You make a very good point regarding the presumably remastered audio, which might in itself be enough to make this a worthwhile undertaking tbh. As you know, I've very much enjoyed the odd animated episodes done in the past, and have been keen to see them give something like this a go, but I wonder if the way this is being promoted won't end up disappointing some less-hardcore fans if it turns out to be as basically animated as some of the earlier projects. It will still be well worth watching, I think, and after all it is a great story whatever form it's presented in.
