I totally agree with you! (Yes, even about the Silurians. Ahem.) Honestly, I also have to choose Series 5, because it had the strongest start -- in fact, the strongest debut episode for any Doctor, in my opinion -- and also the strongest end (oh, Big Bang / Pandorica Opens, you are still my favorite 2-parter, with your mix of excitement, humor, and angst, all with a happy ending). Also, while there were indeed some not-as-great episodes in the middle, the arc with the crack was suitably mysterious and exciting, and came to a wonderful resolution.
