The 51st Anniversary Beckons...?

Oct 01, 2014 22:28

Okay, so activity on who_at_50 has been quite quiet of late, apart from the Series 8 reaction posts which have attracted quite a few comments. I feel like I've taken my eye off the ball a bit in other ways, and of course what made the comm such a success (to my mind at least) last year was not only the excitement of the impending 50th but also the various ( Read more... )

I'd participate! If you're worried about people not signing up for certain eras, maybe some of us (like me *cough*) could sign up to take an underrepresented era?

It's very kind of you to offer - I may hold you to it if necessary. ;) And thanks for the vote of confidence - I will look to get something rolling within the next couple of days. By the weekend, certainly.

Well, it's a bit of a British colloquialism which might even be restricted to my particular bit of Britain, and now that you mention it, it does sound a bit wrong, really. I suppose the best translation would be "lay claim to" or something of the sort, but more school playground-y. ;)

Sounds good. I'd probably wait to make my choice until I see what eras aren't getting so much love and then choose one of them. I prefer to cover Classic Who anyway, and some of those eras would likely be underrepresented. Maybe Big Finish in particular...

Just one potential idea: I've been doing a fair amount of knitting lately and could post pics of/instructions for my new and highly problematic Torchwood scarf (not finished yet, but I'll get it done by November if it kills me!), a variation on a Seventh Doctor scarf, and whatever else I complete this month.

I'll try to get some sort of signups post up in the next couple of days or so - and I will include Big Finish/comics/novels etc as categories, as I think they deserve the exposure. So anything you wanted to sign up for would be very welcome.

And yes, please, share away with your knitting. A slightly problematic Torchwood scarf sounds highly intriguing, and I'm sure the others on the comm would think so too. :)
