I started doing this back in November, for the December Challenge but I'm a little belated... (Due to life and the realisation that doing this for Eight was complicated.) Anyway, it's finally done, so if you enjoy the Eighth Doctor or want to get to know him better in future, hopefully this post will be useful

Thanks! It did take a while, but I've got time and I'm an ex-librarian, so I like doing things like this. :-) Eight is tricksy, though, because it looks like a massive list, but actually it's a whole collection of small recs lists for all the different eras.

Eight really does, indeed. I'm amused about the Classic Who fanfic tropes about. (Eight falls in love with sunsets, dances, and proposes to everyone; Six and Peri go around killing classic tropes deader than dead; and Five's in a relationship with the hatstand and his celery. ;-D)

Thank YOU so much for these recs in return! Not only are they great (and how did I forget the Withnail & I one?) but but but I read that third one years and years ago when it was first posted on usenet and I loved it. I lost 'net access for about 8 years after that, so I had no idea what it was called, who it was by, or when it had been posted but it stayed in my mind all these years. My flailing this morning when I realised what you'd linked me to was quite something. :-)

Happy to help! I wasn't reading DW fic back in Usenet's heyday, so I'd never seen this one before elliptic_eye linked me to it several years ago. I should really go re-read it now :)
