I am not surprised by Mr Gatiss' nom. I think it would be a crime if he WASN'T. I don't care what category that movie/film/bio goes in, it was epic, it gave me nostalgic Feelings, it gave me WHO feelings and it damn near made me cry. That's a triumph in my book. I was also glued to the screen. So...yeah.

Ahhh, PAUL. How I adore him. And how I love that he loves Doctor Who and yet is practical about it all, even as he hopes to be surprised. I hope he gets that surprise - and I hope we get just a taste more of Eight. Why yes, I AM reading the Novels...why do you ask?

Yes, I thought it was excellent too, and even more effective for viewers who knew something of the history of the programme and all of the little references and Easter eggs. So a very well-deserved nomination imho. I do like to think of it, though, as Gatiss's essay on Doctor regenerations and how it behoves us as fans to deal with them. ;)

And some very good Eight novels there are too - I hope you enjoy them. :) McGann seems like a good guy, really, and I'd love to see him brought back for a bit of multi-Doctor action at some point.

It's terrible that some Whovians need to be reminded of that. It always has been part and parcel of the show. I got smacked with this reality as a wee one and though it took a few days, I grasped that this was still my Doctor, just with a different face. It hurt a little and I still missed the face I knew so well, but I was happy to discover such a thing as 'reruns' (which they were anyway) and I could see him again. But I've loved them all since. It's just...DOCTOR WHO. *Hands*

Ohh, that would be lovely!! Way to tease a woman tho'

Indeed - it's just Doctor Who. I think it's a learning curve, though - as the new series goes on and more Doctors pass by (hoping the series goes on for a good while yet), people who maybe aren't familiar with the old series will get used to the idea, I'm sure.
