Been a while since we've had a round-up, I thought (mainly due to me not keeping up with the Who news like I should). But today's breaking story demands to be reported upon!

Insurrection! )

I have to giggle a bit at the "protesting" because I honestly can't see that being anything but staged... but the outfits! Sylvester McCoy's coat! Peter Davison's Doctor t-shirt! OMG, that's hilarious. I bet they're having a blast doing it too ( ... )

McCoy looks like he's dressed as Christopher Lloyd's character in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Which is definitely not a bad thing. Pretty cool, actually. And Davison's got the hands-in-the-pockets classic Fivey pose down to a tee in one of those pictures. ;D ( ... )

And indeed, there is a pleasant sort of circularity to following the 50th anniversary story with a recreation of the very first regeneration, with an old, worn-out Doctor basically giving up the ghost in the course of standing up to the Cybermen.

You know, I hadn't even considered that but... yes. Yes I very much want something along those lines now. Very much.

I also want to hear Matt say, "I wear a toupee now, toupees are cool?" because I doubt even Eleven could deliver that line with confidence, but it would be hilarious to watch him try.

And if they can make the Cybermen half as strange and slightly ridiculous yet unnervingly creepy (imho) as they were in their first appearance, then even better.

And have it set in Antarctica for bonus points, because...well, snow and ice is Christmassy, isn't it??

It would be comedy gold, that, I tell you. Comedy gold. ;D
