I'm going to guess that knee surgery and all that will cost something towards 40K. Hospitals aren't cheap. I was wondering, would it be possible to have US doctors take x-rays and to the tests and MRIs and all that jazz, then go to Mexico to have the surgery done by a board certified specialist?

I will, of course, donate stuff. Also though, feel free to let me know anything else I can do to help.

IMO a second opinion is a must in such circumstances, you don't want to leave them any chance to fuck it up!
I know the money aspect is overwhelming as hell, but that'll take care of itself with time... just make sure you get what is needed to have full recovery!
