Whitney Fall Down Go BOoM

May 16, 2010 23:47

Saturday night I had the lucky fortune of going over to 1eyedkunt 's new home to play on her 14 foot trampoline before she put it in storage. If you know anything about me, you know what a monkey I can be and how much that is right up my alley.  Hours of bouncy fun were going splendidly, until they didn't anymore.

I was jumping with a friend who decided he ( Read more... )

"So, uh....two ducks and a doctor walk into a bar, and..."
It's a good thing you're easily amused, my friend :)

Vikes On A Boat isn't the most fun, I know (surprisingly! how did we become non-drug-seeking folks), but staying out of places of heavy pain management is important, too. Is it still not sharp or acute enough to make it worth your while?

Imma come bring the foods, but also want to pick a good day to go over SDI paperwork things and stuff with you and N, so you're prepared for your visit, whenever that may be. What would a good day for that be?

You know, I don't think I'm gonna end up taking any of it. I didn't have any trouble getting to sleep last night. A little trouble getting back to sleep after getting up to pee, but I got there.

It hasn't really been sharp much, for which I am grateful. I'm also being SUPER careful about how I move it and what touches it. You'd think my leg was made of sugar glass, the way I'm treating it.

Thanks for your help and encouragement around the SDI stuff. It makes me nervous. Are you coming East for rehearsals tonight? You could come here first and then ride over with cassie and I.
Otherwise Tuesday or Wednesday eve are both gravy for that. Right now nobody's bringing food on Tuesday and that's when nathan is in school for 12.5 hrs.

GOOD. The lack of sharp pain is a goooooood, good sign (I hope, at least!), and not having to manage it with opiates = the win. And I'm proud of you for being really careful with it right now!

Yes, rehearsals, but I need to be there before you guys to do dancer and crafting things--I generally ride the bus after work with Honey and get started first. Which is too bad because that could work out perfect....

I wish you were around too! I bet you'd be a good helper monkey.
Thankfully I'm getting a really great response from the local yocals. I feel pretty damn loved.

There's something inherently wrong about damaging your MCL on a trampoline. I'm super familiar with this injury from my martial arts days, so somehow in that framework it makes sense. Getting hurt whilst bouncing around happily is just *wrong* and sad :(

Also - the trunk? You went to the ER in the trunk of your car? Dude.

Wishing you lots of health and a speedy recovery.

Yeah, I kept making jokes about how I had a football injury. It's really impressive that my playtime activities can bring about such damage.

The trunk, yes, but it helps that I have a Volvo. They put the seats back, too. That thing is spacious.

Thanks, lady.

OWWWWWW. Sorry to hear that you got injured! I hope you are able to heal quickly, and get the medical care you need without it breaking the bank. Stupid US health care system. >:(

Thanks, hun. Yeah, the nurse on the phone from the ER yesterday made some "thank god we're finally getting health care!" comment and it took all of my will not to say something sharp back. I'm not holding my breath for that to help me anytime soon.

Do you have a book/video/craftsupply/etc list for keeping yourself entertained while not on your feet?
