those pictures remind me so much of my home in Alabama... I really loved it there. The place is absolutely beautiful, with all the little creeks and forests that turn red and orange in the fall *sigh*
we should totally go on a road trip next summer, or this fall.
wow! the shots out the car windows are great. good perspective! and i love the creek shot, the covered bridge, you with the magnolia, gus's chick & shrimp, and the juicy navel oranges. those are my faves. lovely compilation!
I love your Uncle Randy! His tan is an inspiration to us all.
These pictures make me wish I had some hidden cache of family somewhere, a bunch of folks who knew about your roots bfore you knew you had any, who know you even though you don't know them, and saw you when you were only that tall. Le sigh.
Yes! I know. I really want a tan like Uncle Randy's. Maybe I should put it on my Christmas list. Psandbytheway, you should also know that he's a truck driver. And one of my favorite family members.
You're right. Having people who know about your roots are invaluable. I can never hear enough of the story in which my mom, 8 months old, got into a fist fight with a girl over who was a better band-- Metallica or Devo. My mom said Metallica. <3 Alabama just fills me up with longing. I think mainly because I'd love to be content there. Everything is just so much simpler.
In the place where all us sisters will get together, there is a magnolia tree that's older and taller than the four-story house it shades. My Aunt Ingrid uses one blossom for a centerpiece. The smell is like nothing else in the world. It smells like paradise. I think I've finally found you a proper nickname.
I love your southern roots.
Sorry I haven't been around much. I'm fine, no worries. I hope you're the same, Magnolia. ♥

You're a doll, as always.

I've missed you, but I'm glad to hear that all is well. I hope you've been soaking up the sun. (I've been missing that, too, lately.)
By the way, I think if this photopost had a soundtrack, it would be the Lyle CD you sent me. It brings me home...
