San Francisco: In my lifetime

When I took bob_bunny on a day-trip to San Francisco in January, we got stuck in traffic for a while, and just offhand, I pointed to all the tall buildings that loom over downtown today and remarked, "See all those skyscrapers? Every single one of them was built in my own lifetime

SF's modern look also seems to be a lot less grey than in the older pics! Would love to see the place one day :)

I've been working in general area since 1995, though I used to go there through the 80's with my family. Even in that short time, it has all changed greatly. The Embarcadero Freeway used to be there, now it is all gone. I notice it doesn't even seem to be in the older picture.
